Benefits

Antioxidant

Studies have shown that green tea has many times higher antioxidant activity than the other 21 fruits and vegetables that participated in the experiment.  Studies have also shown that the antioxidant activity of tea extract is stronger than that of vitamin C and vitamin E.  Therefore, drinking tea can prevent aging and cancer caused by oxidative damage and enhance immune function.

Prevent

cardiovascular disease

The results of the research on the health effects of tea on the human body show that insisting on drinking tea is not only conducive to lowering blood pressure and lipids, lowering blood sugar, but also reducing the mortality of coronary heart disease.  Among them, black tea and oolong tea have the best effect.

Prevent cancer

Academician Chen said that one of the health effects of tea is to prevent cancer (including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, colon cancer, etc.), and green tea has the best anti-cancer effect because it is rich in catechins.  An epidemiological study in Japan that followed more than 8,000 people for 10 years has shown that drinking 10 cups of green tea a day can delay the occurrence of cancer, with an average delay of 7.3 years for women and 3.2 years for men.

Prevent senile dementia

A recent study pointed out that drinking tea regularly can reduce the risk of cognitive decline in the elderly. People over 70 years old who drink more than 2-3 cups of tea a day are much less likely to suffer from Alzheimer's disease.

Anti-allergic and

anti-caries

The study also found that the catechins in tea have anti-allergic effects, and people who are allergic to seafood and pollen can drink more tea.  Because the tea polyphenols in tea leaves can kill the carious bacteria present in the interdental space and make it difficult for them to adhere to the tooth surface, thereby preventing dental caries, tea polyphenols are also added to toothpaste.  In addition, fluorine in tea also has a tooth-fixing effect.

Prevent smoking damage

"Drinking tea can repair DNA damaged by smoking, and the effect is very good. This is the conclusion we have drawn through human experiments, and it is also the leading conclusion in the world." Institute of Nutrition and Food Safety, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention  Researcher Professor Han Chi said.

Jiang Heyuan

An associate researcher at the Tea Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences

“There are various effective nutrients in tea, such as the familiar tea polyphenols, theanine, vitamins, caffeine, etc. According to the production principle and process, Chinese tea is divided into six categories, namely green tea, black tea, yellow tea, white tea, green tea, and dark tea. Later, there were some reprocessed teas, such as scented tea, which developed on the basis of six categories. "

Chen Zongmao

An Academician at the

Chinese Academy of Engineering

"My country's green tea consumption ranks first in the world and black tea second; but from a global perspective, black tea consumption is the highest. At present, the efficacy of tea has been determined mainly in the following seven aspects: Antioxidant, Prevention of cardiovascular disease, Prevent cancer, Anti-allergic and anti-caries, Prevent senile dementia, and Prevent smoking damage."

Health care does not need to buy particularly expensive tea. Some famous teas, such as Mingqian tea in Longjing, have the same active ingredients as ordinary tea, but the content may be different. The total amount of polyphenols in each type of tea is similar, but because green tea is the easiest to process, its nutrients are better preserved.
